Oliver Cromwell’s Speech on the Dissolution of the Long Parliament
Given to the House of Commons
20 April 1653
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter’d your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil’d this sacred place, and turn’d the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress’d, are yourselves gone!
So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors. In the name of God, GO!
I think you knew the outcome. Perhaps the message will come home. What Labour needs to do is slash spending now, There is just so much waste. Stop building windmills and eco towns as we dont want them. just listen to the silent majority for once and act on what they say.
You should now hold a general election if you care about this country.but you wont and you dont. not you your government.
Oh Dear! Tom, I bet I could give you a few years, yet I stayed up for the result after the recount…”demanded” by your Candidate no less. Because of this recount, she actually lost by an even bigger margin!
It’s time for you and your Party to get real, and understand that not only the Scottish people, but the whole of the British Isles, no longer want a Labour Government.
If I were you, I’d start looking around for a new job sooner, rather than later.

Gloating now.
The game’s over. Only the last tranche of nutters in the Labour Fuhrer Bunker will be putting a positive spin on this.
It is, by the way, a win by a Christian who stands for the sanctity of unborn life. So, not that bad, then.

Oh dear – you should have stayed up. Start plotting now.

Now that was an interesting result.
How safe is your seat Tom?
Oliver Cromwell put it rather well:

I not only predicted the result but correctly predicted the Tories would come third.
What do I win? A “And another thing” t-shirt? Tea on the terrace with the transport minister? A peerage?
