I’M TAKING a short break from blogging over the Easter weekend. So have a good one, whether or not this particular holiday has any spiritual significance for you.
I may update my Twitter feed (see right) occasionally, if something important happens (Doctor Who Easter special tomorrow night, for instance).

Friday 10 April 2009 at 11:43 pm
Have a nice Easter Tom.
Enjoy the Truffles! ;o)
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 12:05 am
Have a complete rest Tom. Your brain has obviously become overheated. It needs a rest from all the spinning it has had to do lately.
Oh, and don’t bother to Twitter either about the Sunday Times story about Labour spinning. You might just blow a fuse!
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 9:45 am
Happy Easter to you and yours, Tom.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 12:17 pm
Happy Easter Mr Harris!
Shame the big story is breaking while you’re away, eh? Sod’s law….
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 1:10 pm
Yes, good thing there’s no big political stories brewing.
Enjoy your holiday…
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 3:19 pm
Guido’s mentioned some sort of email leak but it’s probably nothing to worry about.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 3:50 pm
Oops. Man overboard, possibly.

Only a rumour though, probably still nothing to worry about.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 4:22 pm
Richard – Tom is ON HOLIDAY.
Sorry, Tom, as you were…
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 4:38 pm
What a boring, uneventful weekend.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 5:11 pm
Oh dear, looks like it’s more than just a rumour. BBC, Sky and R4 now reporting that Damian McBride’s just resigned (note, not fired).
It seems that concocting a plot to smear your political opponents as being sexual deviants/mentally ill/diseased isn’t considered a sacking offence under Gordon Brown’s leadership.
-=-=-
Still, I expect that’s the last we’ll hear of this.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 5:51 pm
With good wishes for Easter.
I look forward to your review of Dr Who and Damian McBride respectively, and your guess as to how many regenerations they both have left.
Now is the summer of our discontent made inglorious winter by this son of the manse.
(Richard III, believe me.)

Tom, Happy Easter. Just for your amusement, I have posted my first comment on LabourList, I wonder if it will be published……
” Over the last few months I have watched your wonderful contibutions to the Tory victory at the next General Election, so far without feeling the need to comment.
However I feel I really must take this last opportunity to congratulate you on plumbing new depths of awfulness while you are still part of this blog.
We are going to miss you greatly. Good luck in your future career, whatever it may be……”
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 6:26 pm
All will be well again, c. 19:45 tonight, with a little help from the sonic screwdriver.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 7:38 pm
@ Stewart Cowan – “Tom is ON HOLIDAY”
He can’t possibly be having as much fun with his holiday as I’m having with mine
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 7:41 pm
Happy Easter Tom. Best wishes to you and your family/
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 8:12 pm
You picked a great time to stop blogging Tom. Your Downing St pal has been sacked.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 8:26 pm
Labour government in melt down and what is Tom doing, washing dishes at home. What about Draper and Watson this all shows what Labour is realy about. He should have been sacked with them all.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 8:49 pm
Come on, Tosh, do the decent thing.
Staines has shown up the top level of your party for exactly what it is. First McBride, then Draper, then Watson, then a GE, which will shred them like Freddy.
You have (at least) a couple of properties, a gross income of a quarter of a mill a year.
You are as embarrassed by the conduct of an ‘independent civil servant’ as we all are.
You are as much a Conservative as I am, a 20 year veteran of ‘The City’.
Do the decent and honest and honourable thing and follow Charles Clarke across the floor. And start the Conservative revival in Scotland.
You know, as I do, that Scotland under a Labour or an SNP government has no future beyond being the western equivalent of an African feeding station. No future whatsoever.
You know it, fella.
Do something about it.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 10:17 pm
You go on a blogging holiday, and just hours later, Downing Street’s main spin doctor resigns. Hmm…
Gordon given you a new job, Tom?
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 10:58 pm
Is it overly cynical to think that you has word this shitstorm was approaching, and as such, decided on an easily explainable “blogging holiday” to avoid either confronting the issue or providing a platform for the labour hating keyboard warriors of the blogsphere?
If so, nicely done (seriously, i’m not being sarcastic or anything). It worked.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 10:59 pm
Come on, Tosh, put down your glass and give us a comment.
This is the biggest political story by a country mile since you’ve started blogging. Your fan-base would love a comment.
Not one from the (rather discredited, don’t you think?) New Labour bloggers’ template, not a cut-and-paste from central office/Mandelson/Campbell, but your own apolitical, non-tribal, honest, and heartfelt opinion.
Saturday 11 April 2009 at 11:24 pm
Tom, your government needs you! Where are you?
Anyway, have a great Easter! This is my favouite for a long, long time!
PS Did you enjoy Doctor Who?
Sunday 12 April 2009 at 12:14 am
It’s probably a bit gauche to mention the word ‘resurrection’ on this particular day but what effect do you think “Smeargate” will have on Gordon Brown’s chances of a bounce in the polls in the next few weeks?
Sunday 12 April 2009 at 9:14 am
You and Derek Draper as well it would seem. You must be very proud of the Labour Party this morning, Tom. They’ve hauled up the flag and shown their true colours.
Now all we need is evidence of a link to Brown, and you are gone.
