“There should be no more prosecutions in the News of the World phone-tapping affair, the Director of Public Prosecutions ruled yesterday.
The initial inquiry, which ended with royal editor Clive Goodman and investigator Glenn Mulcaire being jailed more than two-and-a-half years ago, was correctly carried out, Keir Starmer QC said.
There was no new evidence of wrong-doing by anyone else.

The war must stop. It has gone on longer than WWII. It goes on becuase our leaders are cowards. Our soldiers are not. The so-called ‘Taleban’ are not.
This war ends now, as do the careers of any politicians who continue to support it. I maintain a high regard for Tom Harris but I now believe that he is criminally blinkered, unless something has changed in recent days.
If that sounds self-important I don’t mean it that way. But I am the public – some say the pubic – that is their right.
